Fight the Winter Skin Blues with Powerful Beauty Secrets

Avocado
The winter fashion season is upon us, and you know what that means: dry, chapped skin.

Here are some beauty tips for lotions, makeup and prescription antidotes to the winter dry skin that can lead to accelerated aging.

Caffeine has shown to be an effective anti-aging component, and products like RevaleSkin cream contain extracts from coffee beans or coffee fruit which can help reduce the signs of aging.

In fact, according to some studies, caffeine has shown even an internal healing effect which reduces the instance of internal diseases and can help keep you healthy.

Index Finger About to ExplodeProtein drops such as 302 drops can help thicken your skin and moisturize chapped areas.

302 is derived from avocado, so if you're not down with an expensive trip to the pharmacist, try blending an avocado mask with green tea and lemon to moisturize your skin and rid it of free radicals.

If you're getting a bit of wrinkle buildup to your skin due to the cold and dry winter winds, copper peptide lotions like Neova can help you fight the wrinkles by stimulating collagen growth.

In fact, copper peptide lotions have been shown more effective than Retin-A in stimulating collagen, according to Beverly Hills Beauty Secrets: A Prominent Dermatologist and Plastic Surgeon's Insider Guide to Facial Rejuvenation, by Douglas Hamilton and Babak Azizzadeh, both M.D.

Skirt suits

Skirt suits are hot in the office this winter. Cut to just below the knee, they can be subtly femnine but in a totally businesslike way. Another good combination with your well-tailored suit coat is a pair of dark-colored denim that fits you well. A good pair of denim jeans with a professionally tailored jacked can give you a businesslike look that is more accessible than the common suit.

Keep away from patterns unless they are in the trim. Patterns add bulk and are at best an accent.

Leggings are a hot ticket for the cold winter

Leggings are coming back this fall and winter fashion season. Skinny legs are the thing for 2009, and these slim leggings will be balanced out by brightly colored tops, coats, and short plaid skirts over the leggings.

If you have pantyline fears for winter 2009's leggings season, don't fret. You can cover up the area of your pantyline with a short dress over your leggings. Or, you can avoid the pantyline altogether by using a thong or seamless panties. Victoria's Secret makes a great set of seamless panties. If you really want to go for the gold in hiding panty lines, spring for a pair of seamless thongs in a comfy shade of nude. These offer the best protection against your panties coming out for a peek this winter.
